Governing bodies

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversees the mission fulfillment by the Executive Board and advises the Executive Board. The Board of Directors consists of a governance section, a staff section and a student section.

The chairman of the Board of Directors is Paul Van Cauwenberge.

Executive Board

The Executive Board manages the university college and to do so, it has all the powers that are not explicitly granted to another governing body at its disposal. The board consists of the chairman of the Board of Directors, the rector and members appointed by the Board of Directors.

Rector

The rector represents the university college. He is responsible for implementing legislation, regulations and administrative decisions, coordinating administrative offices and executing the university college's core tasks.

The rector of University College Ghent is Koen Goethals.

Council for Student Services and Student Life

  • University College Ghent has a Council for Student Services and Student Life, composed of sixteen members with equal representation.
