Candidate students who wish to inscribe based on a foreign high school degree might need to receive admission via the International Office.
A list of foreign degrees has already been listed in the Education- and Examination Code. These degrees don’t need to receive additional approval and can immediately apply for inscription, if they obtained the required language level of Dutch (B2).
Other foreign degrees or diplomas can also apply, in case they allow access to university level studies or if the candidate already disposes of a university degree. Besides the diploma level requirement there is also the language requirement.
Candidate students who haven’t obtained the required Dutch level B2 (vantage) might want to apply for a preparatory Dutch language year or might wish to have their language level tested. More information on the “Preparatory year of Dutch for speakers of other languages” course, given at the Ghent University Language Centre, can be found via this link. Even students requiring a student visa might be eligible, based on their right of one preparatory year preceding the actual studies. Before being able to inscribe for this intensive language course you first need to obtain our provisionary approval, based on an application file with legalized documents (contact email@example.com). Please note the inscription deadline, fees and further requirements for the applications at our university college and for the language year at Ghent University.
Candidates applying for admission to a course in the field of the arts need to address themselves to the student affairs office of the School of Arts. For most of the arts courses artistic entrance exams apply.
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org mentioning your country of origin, the name of the course you wish to apply for and the diploma(s) you graduated for. Based on this information you will receive the necessary application form and guidelines. Please mind the deadlines for handing in your application. The normal inscription deadlines apply for the degrees listed in the Education- and Examination Code or in case you received an academic recognition via Naric (Ministry of Education).
