Recently University College Ghent set up partnerships with secondary schools and CVOs (Centres for Adult Education,…) in order to organise associate degree programmes in the region of Ghent. An associate degree is in fact a higher vocational training and aims upon further development of a specific profession with a high focus on practice. Be aware that not all courses are taught in English.
An associate degree equals to an EQF5 (European Quality Framework) whereas a bachelor degree equals to an EQF6, which puts the associate degree in a unique position for further professionalisation of a student with a vocational background. Graduates do not only have higher stakes at finding a job, but also have easier access to further education. Upon completion of an associate degree, you could easily apply for a bachelor degree at University College Ghent.
Requirements for applying for associate degree programmes differ from other degree programmes; click here to find out more.
For the moment, all these courses are only available in Dutch.
