The academic year normally starts in the 3rd week of September and consists of two semesters of 12 weeks each. In week 13, postponed classes and supervising activities are organised. The autumn semester ends in January, the spring semester ends in May. All courses, course-related activities, work placements, and so on end in May.
Each block of 12 weeks is followed by an examination period (January and June). Students who fail to pass may enrol for an examination period in September. Some courses are organised on an annual basis with a single examination period in June. For these courses too, an extra examination period is held in September.
