HOGENT in Collaboration with Mountains of the Moon University, West Kentucky University and International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is proud to present the 4th Summer School: “Improving the Quality of Life through the Quality of Care” in Uganda.
Two week interdisciplinary program
The Summer School consists of a 2-week interdisciplinary program with lectures, visits and group activities designed to give students opportunities to learn how Quality of Care can improve the Quality of Life of different target groups in socially vulnerable situations. It features contributions from several of our long-lasting and valued international academic partners.
The Summer School aims at bachelor students who have acquired at least 60% of their study program. It is set to foster interdisciplinary and intercultural learning for students within the broad study fields of health promotion as Nursing, Education, Speech Therapy, Social Work, Dietetics & Nutrition, Laboratory Technics, Occupational Therapy, Special Needs Education, Psychology.
Next to academic lectures on various topics, the Summer School provides visits to local organizations and support providers as well as a cultural program plenty of trips and night activities.

Certificate
Students will receive an International Certificate of Participation from IASSIDD – MMU – HOGENT.
The Summer School corresponds to a workload of 3 ECTS credits and counts as an optional course for HOGENT students.
Price
750 EUR
This includes the summer school, accommodation, breakfast and lunch during teaching days and local transport. This does not include the flight (except for HOGENT students: for them the flight is included) international passport, visa en vaccinations.
