HoGent has been granted a financing by the European Commission for a project January 2017-december 2018 to adapt a Universal Prevention Curriculum in 9 European countries. International partners include UNODC, EMCDDA, the EU Society for Prevention Research (EUSPR), and APSI. The study is comprehensive including representatives from academia, civil society, and policy-makers. The project will map and analyze UPC to specify how it can be adapted to the contexts and cultures of 9 countries including language (11 languages), idioms, references, terminology, pictures, and examples. The intent is to establish a European curriculum built on quality standards and evidence based programs, delivered in different versions. The Department of Social Work at University College Ghent has already foreseen an integrated implementation of the UPC in its new curriculum 2017-2018.
