Renting a student room costs 1375 euros for one semester. This includes 55 euros/month for heating, water, electricity, internet and cleaning of shared facilities. The rent is due for the whole semester, even if you leave the student residence early. To confirm your booking, you will be asked to pay a 250 euro security deposit, which will be reimbursed after your stay if you leave the room behind in a clean condition.

It is possible to rent a HOGENT student room for the duration of one semester, meaning from September until January or from February until June. The exact period of the rental agreement will be communicated by the Housing service once the rooms are allocated.

Applying for a room is only possible if your home university has given you the confirmation that you are selected to come study at our university as an exchange student. Your home university will send you an application form on which you can indicate that you want to rent a room of HOGENT.

Please note that a room in Mercator D is not guaranteed by ticking the box in the application form as there is always a big demand for student rooms at our student residence.

Students who start their exchange programme in the first semester will receive an email around May and students who enter the second semester get a confirmation email around November.
