Bioswales.

You'll find several bioswales on HOGENT campuses. These basins collect rainwater when our underground tanks are full. Instead of disappearing straight into the sewer system, the water is given time to slowly seep into the ground. This helps prevent flooding during heavy rainfall and keeps groundwater levels stable during dry spells. The plants in and around the bioswales are specially adapted to cope with both wet and dry conditions.
