Transgressive behaviour.

  Dutch version

All students and staff deserve a safe and caring learning and working environment where everyone can feel at home. That's why HOGENT has a zero tolerance in terms of transgressive behaviour and we call on you to always report transgressive behaviour when you experience or observe it.

What is transgressive behaviour?

Behaviour is transgressive as soon as it crosses your personal boundary. It can occur in the form of bullying, unwanted sexual behaviour, verbal or physical violence and discrimination such as racism, sexism or gender-based discrimination, among others. Often, different forms overlap and there is an abuse of power.

You decide what crosses your boundaries. What is normal for one person may be unacceptable for another.

Report transgressive behaviour.

Are you confronted with transgressive behaviour within the context of HOGENT? Then we call on you to always report to a confidential counsellor. They treat every report in confidence and are strictly bound by professional secrecy.

The confidential counsellors will never take steps without your explicit consent. They work impartially and independently. They can provide you with information and advice on how to deal with the situation and assist you in possible next steps. You decide which steps are taken or not.
