What makes urban environments liveable - and for whom? Through a socio-spatial lens, we investigate public space from the perspective of those often overlooked in urban planning, especially children and teenagers. Drawing on projects like KIDS and BLOK, we examine how spatial conditions, lived experiences and power relations shape socio-spatial quality and how participatory planning methods can empower more people to shape their living environment.
Our projects.

KIDS.
This project brought together social workers and landscape architects to develop the KIDS-GIDS, an interdisciplinary tool that supports the active involvement of children and young people as co-researchers and co-planners in the design of child-friendly, sustainable, and democratic urban environments.
