The aim of the study programme is to turn versatile, self-reliant and motivated students into competent professionals who can give effective answers to the challenges the sector is facing, who can inject innovation into the process and who dare, and can, rise to the challenge of tackling new technologies. The course combines creativity (fashion) with productivity (technology) while fostering a business and commercial attitude. With this bachelor, the graduates can fulfil five roles in the fashion industry, both at home and abroad: product manager, production manager, pattern department manager, quality control manager and stylist. Graduates with a bachelor of fashion technology are capable of: - following market developments in the sector; analysing studies for expansion and innovation; - analysing the production process and advising the staff on the workfloor; - helping organise personnel policy; - coordinating product development; - keeping the machinery and software packages operational and up-to-date; - supporting the set-up of a foreign production unit; - (helping) determining sales arguments, the sales process, market share, life expectancy, pricing and advertising of the product; - (helping) determining the technical specifications and quality requirements regarding a product; - coordinating the logistics; - giving evidence of familiarity with the different clothing manufacture techniques: patterns (manual and CAD), assembly techniques of different clothing items, working methods and clothing manufacture machinery; - adequately applying the function-specific competences; - working with target, team, customer and innovation in mind; - thinking in an analytical and problem-solving manner; - adequately applying social and communicative skills (written and oral); - giving evidence of quality, safety and environmental awareness, displaying a high level of responsibility, flexibility, self-reliance and managerial capacities.

A Bachelor (Ba) of Fashion Technology has direct access to the following advanced Bachelor's program and can, after the successful completion of a bridging program (between 45 and 90 credits), gain access to the following Master Program:
